1986-1987

Dr. Chesler completed his M.D./Ph.D. degrees in Physiology and Biophysics from New York University in 1986.  Dr. Chesler went on to complete postdoctoral training under the mentorship of Dr. Kraig at Cornell University from 1986-1987, where he examined how evoked activity and cortical spreading depression shifted intracellular pH in astrocytes.   

Dr. Chesler currently is Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Neurosurgery, and Professor of Physiology and Neuroscience at New York University School of Medicine.
